Re: Help find cruise control retrofit Xantia
You need to chat to Paul (citroenxm) as late HDis have cruise already available but there is some work to do...
Paul has done the job on one of his in the past and hopefully he'll be along in a bit with the lowdown...
If not, PM him... I'm sure he'll be delighted to advise...

Re: Help find cruise control retrofit Xantia
As I recall, the ECUs do have the software in them (for the HDi engines, that is), but there is some wiring to do to make it work. I believe he has done it on one of his HDi Xantias.

That's right James. I believe the work is quite involved from what Paul was saying...
A pukka cruise stalk will be needed too...

Re: Help find cruise control retrofit Xantia
Theres two ways to see if you have compatability. RP8421 OR HIGHER is firstly needed but you will also need a lexia to switch on the Cruise Option in the configuration menu..
Bosch put in cruise control software in late on ECUs, and as above you need to use a lexia to go in and switch it on. But however, by this time, Citroen did NOT modify the Xantia Loom to take advantage of this feature! So a little wiring is needed to sort it out. The main thing is you need to get 7 wires (To be safe) in from the ECU to the car, around the fuse box and steering colum. Mainly so the ECU can see the brake pedal switch, the speed up and speed down and cancel switchings from the cruise lever.
Firstly, once you know you have built in cruise... have a good read through this post:
