Re: synergie no starting just click
I would be thinking starter itself. this could mean that the solenoid contacts have burned away and are not supplying voltage to the motor, or it could be worn or sicking brushes, or just a loose main terminal.

Starter motor itself easy to replace and not so expensive these days

I would concur but check the battery connections first.

Re: synergie no starting just click
ECP quoted me £63 for a new one , the £55 one isn't suitable apparently
(other motor factors want a lot more - a lucas one for £110 for example)
got one new from ebay for £41 inc next day delivery from liquidation stock so tomorrow in the rain I am fitting a new starter ;(

Re: synergie no starting just click
Was it the RTX brand from ECP by any chance ? if so you would have been better off with the second hand one, it would probably have lasted longer. RTX seem to be their own brand starters & alternators. You have to ask yourself why they are often half the price of the cheapest branded one ??Harlequin wrote:ECP quoted me £63 for a new one , the £55 one isn't suitable apparently(other motor factors want a lot more - a lucas one for £110 for example)
