Silver car EYC ? Paint tip

Unread post by c.morewood »

If you've got a silver EYC Gris Quartz Xantia, maybe others.
Hammerite Silver pretty well matches that colour. So for touching up under sills, doors, wheelarches and even bumpers its a pretty good match.

I concur; I used it on the silver C5, and it blended in well. In fact, I'm about to get a can for my son's Micra, which is a very similar silver.

This is a great tip thanks! I just repainted the stone chip strip of the sills with the silver hammerite and I concur - it's a good match to the Quartz Silver.

Its a shame then that Hammerite is such a poor paint (imho) as it is very brittle. Do not rely on it for rust prevention for to long.
If you have to, wait a week and put a layer or two of lacquer over it.
