C5 info screen lighting

Post by hirsty »

The info screen in the central binnacle doesn't light up at night. I assume it should. Does anyone have any idea how to access wherever the bulb? happens to live. :?

Thanks

If i remember correctly you lever out the surround which is clipped in, then 2 screws to take screen out and 3 bulbs in the screen unit. I got them off eBay but can't remember the name or number they are.

Wait for your X7 C5, then as soon as the cabin gets warm the screen corrupts :)
I'm looking forward to winter because it will work again for 6 months and will not ##ss me off every day :)

I found it quite simple other than re-fitting the TrafficMaster LED. (snipped it off, useless!)

I can't remember where I bought the new bulbs but suspect eBay.

I think this was one of the first things I asked on this forum when I joined. I know I did buy the bulbs off eBay. There weren't so many c5's on the forum then I used to think i was an alien [emoji13] [emoji12]

I have taken the unit out and the bulbs look fine. Can't be a power/fuse problem as everything else works as it should. Anybody any other suggestions? Seems unusual for three bulbs to go. :? :?

I wish I could, I did mine a couple of years ago and would still have to work it out again. :?

Are these union type bulbs i.e. one out all out? :) A fiddle with the fusebox has brought the radio and glovebox light back to life.

No, mine only had one out.
Replaced all of them while I was on with it though.

Those twist fit lamp holders are notorious for not making good contact, give the PCB tracks a good clean.
