Xantia HDi

Unread post by jono »

Greetings
I have a Xantia HDi 90 estate 1999 vintage, and I would like to know what the difference is between the 90bhp and 110bhp engine. I read an article on one of those 'Gain 20 BHP - just plug the gizmo into the wiring before the ECU!' on the Pug 406 HDi and the article suggested the only difference between the engines was an intercooler. Surely it can't be that simple. Citroen make something simple? I would dearly like to see the designer who did the underbonnet layout of around the rear of the drivers headlight, change the headlight bulbs in the evening light with the temperature at about 2-4 degrees centigrade. It might have looked good on there computer screen but in the real world- However back to the point, does anybody have any engine information.
Regards Jon

The 110bhp has an intercooler, the 90 does not. The 110 also gets bigger front discs and pads.
You can chip a 90 to 110bhp with one of those plug in diesel tuning boxes, theres usually a few (new) for sale on Ebay.

the 110 bhp also has a vaccum operated throttle valve in the air intake controlled by the ECU.
