Xantia how do I know if it is the 90 or 110 Hdi?

Xantia how do I know if it is the 90 or 110 Hdi?

I want to look out for Xantia 2.0hdi for a test drive to compare with C5 before I decide which to buy. I am confuse there is two engine type 90 or 110 so how do I identification the engine by chassis number but what is the number and one of man told me the 110 have intercooler location at the side of gearbox is that right? :-D

Very easily.. Look under the bonnet and if you see a turbo pipe running next to and to the left of the air filter box then you have a 110...

The 90 does not have this pipe as it has no intercooler.. In fact, that's another way, just look for two big hoses going to the intercooler to confirm it's a 110..

I expect another will soon post an under-bonnet picture to illustrate what I've just described..

Knicked from falling-out-with-my-car's recent post (this is a 110):

110s have RHZ in the VIN, whereas 90s are RHY

Xantia intercooler is full width so not easily seen, but you can't miss that pipe! C5 110 has a side mounted intercooler.
