guys i just got this last month, its in good condition and has been looked after. when I am driving it, if I try to demist the screen using the heater. I get a foggy oily residue on the screen that won't clear away. I keep wiping it. It doesn't smell of coolant in the car, the coolant level is pretty stable, and there is no damp patch as far as i can tell . its only seems to happen during heavy rain. It could be heating matrix, If so anybody got any instructions on how to do that , is it a big tricky job, are there any shortcuts such as a no dash method. Also does anybody know someone who could do this in suffolk and how much would it cost ?
The aircon hasn't been charged because I'm not sure if the compressor even works don't want to waste money, Are there any other simple cheap and easy things it could be blocked drains etc. pics and diagrams would be extremely useful as I have no idea where anything is on this car.
best regards

It could just be dampness in the car that's causing the problem. If the heater matrix was leaking you would be able to smell the antifreeze and your water level would be dropping. Check around the inside of the car for damp patches from rain ingress, it may need a good long run with the heater on to dry it out.

the oil residue on the screen might have been wiped on from cleaning cloths. I got a few absorbent spongy cloths today but most of them had some sort of greasy detergent in them already which smeared badly there are two dry ones that were ok. I cleaned the windscreen with a glass wipe. I ran it this morning with heater on full, i had a brief rain spell and it steamed up again but its sunny again now so can't check. I thought originally that the windscreen was leaking slightly at the top. yesterday It rained constantly and the car was full of a huge wet tent and everyones hair was soaking wet so that may have been why it was so chronic. I kept the windows open and the heater off and the screen kept clear. What I need is some sort of inside screen wiper to move the moisture away without streaking the glass.

Make sure your air intake is set to bring air in from outside, not on recirculation
If it is the heater matrix, they're quite easy to do, one of the easiest I've come across, so nothing to worry out.

There is a drain for the aircon that can become blocked and may need poking or blowing clean.
