BX Front strut top mounting repair

Hello Friends, Have big problem with my BX 1992 Front strut top mounting....both sides top mounting rubbers are close to broke,I do not know if they can be repaired,or where the job is done , as I cannot find new replacement anywhere, I don´t know what to do except keep it in my garage. Hope can help.Thank you

Hi,Richard,Thanks for reply.Yes,I have one of few BX´s,it´s 100% original and wish to keep it..sometimes as now is difficult to find some parts. Thought that maybe in UK can bond the strut top mount.

I can't see that carriage Peru - Latvia - Peru would be significantly more expensive than Peru - UK - Peru

There is no one in the UK repairs these AFAIK, the Latvians are the only ones. They reportedly do a very good job at a not too bad price.

I have never seen anyone posting about a problem when dealing with the guys in Latvia, they seem to have a very good business and take pride in it.

The 'sales department' in Latvia is an English-speaking lady who is very helpful.

I've not had to use them, the Citroen parts network found me a new strut mount (in Poland IIRC), but I did exchange e-mails with elastomer.eu and from reports on the forum I'd have no hesitation in using them.

Sending them 1 strut mount for refurbishment worked out at more or less the same price as a new one from Citroen but was going to take about a week longer than waiting for Citroen. The carriage would have been the same for 2, so if both had been needed, I'd have gone for refurbishment rather than new as I suspect that they make a better job than Citroen's supplier did.

Strut mounts are listed at £130 odd on servicebox now! Worked out i could have both sent off and done for that.

Granted it leaves me motorless for a few weeks.

Don't think citroen stock BX tops anymore. Xantias arent listed as NFP but i guess they're hard to find

You will be pretty safe with them.
Several forum members had done so and been pleased with the result, including citrojim, who wouldn’t hesitate to point out any flaws or discrepancies. Just the opposite, he was very pleased with the results.
