What a fabulous car - 2010 C5 Tourer

Post by rmunns »

I live in France and bought this C5 Tourer 160 Hdi a month ago. It is in good cosmetic condition even though it has 200,000km (about 125,000 miles). When I bought the car I prayed that it would be ok to take this on a return trip to Kiel (3,200km .... 2,000miles). We had a holiday booked that started from there and needed to arrive on time.
I needn't have bothered worrying. Two weeks later we are back home, completely trouble-free smooooooth motoring, so many really good memories. Auto box, exclusive trim. Returned 56.5mpg.
Only downside to the long journey was the very bad congestion of German motorways. All told we probably spent 3 hours just crawling, because of the extensive upgrading going on.
Just so pleased, after selling a hated, horrible 2008 VW Passat.

I find the seats and the car extra ordinarily comfortable. After driving Alfa Romes for 10 years and coming back to PSA group cars, my 2011 Citroën C5 is super comfortable and has brilliant headlights. I do miss the nimble chassis of my ex 156 sportwagon.

Yes - considerably harder than my previous 2005 C5 Exclusive but much better than my 2.1 Xantia. The best Citroen seats I've ever had were in my 1990 BX-TZD. Not only did they have adjustable lumber support but an adjustable knee roll as well.

C5 Mk1 leather for me, them or the Activa leather, close follow are those in the Vauxhall Calibra 4x4Turbo funny enough.

I just do not understand the need for a hard seat squab ?, never have, never will.
I like to sit in a seat not on the thing...maybe some form of German inspired S&M ?

A minor issue with a FANTASTIC car however.

Passat seats are the same. It is like a kit car seat ie quite narrow. Vel Satis seats. King size and hinges half way up the seat back on leccy motor. Bridge of Weir Leather.
My horrid cloth seats in The Donk are good..........for putting chainsaws and bags of cement on :rofl2:
