So Long and thanks for all the fish

Post by ej2095 »

hi all

My 2001 C5 has now gone scrap :(

Went for MOT:-

Faults are :-

Torsion suspension had snapped. (Yup you could he it clunk)
3 Ball joints knackered
Middle Hydraulic sphere underneath leaking fluid,
Exhaust needed replacing
Tyres needed replacing
Also back end wheels had done this " / - \ "

DPF, Kept popping up after a blast down the motorway every week.

So would like to say thank you to the members who advised me over the last 3 years with various minor faults.

Sorry to hear that but you should be able to get a replacement cheap enough. I paid £550 for my 2.0. Hdi estate about 4 years ago, I had to do a few jobs on it but it still drives fine. I previously bought a 2.2 for £300 taxed and MOT'd.

Whatever you buy its bound to want something doing to it, but that's how it goes. Fortunately I can still do my own repairs and you can often buy a car cheap because it has a problem but if you know the cars, very often it doesn't cost much to repair - if you can do it yourself.
