What have I done?!!

Post by lexi »

I took a drive in an old C5 today with a view for a travelling donkey  Mmm.......but it's a diesel? I haven't had that noise in my ears for about 5yrs.

Erm?.....It was not that noisy? It drove quite nicely. It pulls well, even going from my 240 bhp to 110. It only has 117k. It hit a bump and I never felt a thing.
It is mine  Silly old fool that I am. Pick it up next week.......scruffy old donkey with towbar.

They have to be the best bargain on the market at the moment, a lot of car for peanuts. I have a nice metallic red estate I bought about 4 years ago for £550, I had to do a few jobs on it but its still going well.

It will do nicely for fishing and camping up North Peter. I will be relying on your advice and experience mate.
Will need lots done I expect to get sound and reliable. Only 145 quid to tax and the way I drive it should give good mpg once serviced and egr checked.

Yep, they are peanuts cars and genuinely surprised me by how good they are.
Ok, let's not get carried away - they're no CX suspension comfort wise , not a looker at all and not 'special' but definitely a very good modern car.

Well put Peter :-D Agree with every word..

Just like my C1. An incredibly competent little roller-skate and all-round utility car... Just like your new C5 lexi!

Mrs Lexi is not pleased. She just shakes her head and mentions sausages?..........bangers!

She wanted to buy a new Civic and give me her Jazz with 15k miles on it. "Save your money Pet. Cars......ain't worth those amounts of money" I said.
That's it guys, nothing special at all. The Donk will be it's name and it's purpose. Quite surprised how easy to get in and out. Lots of cars aren't with my stiff neck and back.

As said, not a looker and nothing exceptional about them but they are undeniably comfortable - I regularly do a couple of hundred miles without stopping and emerge rested and with no back or leg pains. A practical car, plenty of room fur junk in them, especially the estate.

I have so far been able to fix the 406 and C5 without using the Lexia - probably got something with it not working. :(

Ps Lexi, Jazz's are excellent - I wouldn't be unhappy if someone gave me one tbh! (having bought a jazz2 for my gf's mum and persuaded my sister to buy a jazz 1 :-D )

Yes Wurly, Jazz are super Little/Big cars. I use it a fair bit.

The Donk will do me. Drove it home tonight. It is a rough thing , like me. Just what I want ATM. It is not fair to judge Donk when coming from The Vel. Miles apart in concept, engineering ,price and purpose. Will get an oil change tomorrow and a looksee.
