C5 Central Display

Hi, I have just bought a cheap Citroen C5 runaround. The central display seems to have a little bitter smaller display area than the previous C5 I had a couple of years ago. On my older central display the outside temperature and time displayed together. On my smaller one it just shows the time and you have to press a button to get the outside temperature to display for a short period before it reverts to the time again. Do you know if I could buy the larger display and fit it to my car as the actual complete unit appears to be the same size with the screws in the same place, would it work? I have seen them on ebay quite cheap.

Yes, it is a straight swap and one from a scrapper will fit the bill.
Your current C5 is an LX, which got the two-line display. SX and higher got the expanded display.
It is easy to swap. A thin bladed blunt knife is used to pop the surround out then a couple of torx screws to remove the display panel.
Hardest part is refitting the TrafficMaster LED. I didn't bother with it as it is redundant anyway.

I think I have some pictures somewhere from when I replaced the bulbs in mine and will add them later when I find them, if I ever do,

Thanks for the reply. I do indeed have a LX. I know how to change them as I took mine out yesterday to change a couple of bulbs. I will pop down my local scrappy tomorrow to see if they have any in. Ta, Lee.
