turbo not kicking in

hi,
it seems that my laguna 1.9 dci turbo isn't kicking in?? drives perfectly fine and since I had it it never seemed to kick in until revs got near 2000 but you could feel it pull when it did.now it just seems like there isn't a turbo? as I say, drives perfectly,no smoke etc but not a lot of pulling power? it's a 1.9 dci sport tourer 07 ?? thanks.

I'd check if a turbo pipes come off, pop the bonnet and check all the big hoses, 50to100mm ish, are still connected.

thanks for that.i'll have a look...don't think it's too serious as car runs nice,just not much power......cheers. still revs up past 3000 revs,just takes a bit longer getting there

If you do find a pipe off and reconnect it you'll get some black smoke when you rev for a bit. Don't worry its normal and temporary.

well,
drove it home the other night,no power,no turbo and sounds very sort of tinny.......same next morning,then when I was on my way home from work,it went like a rocket and engine sounded lovely.....now it's back to no power and the tinny sound of the engine.........been advised it may be an intercooler pipe split but don't know......really annoying..got a mate(who is a mechanic) looking at it for me on saturday,but just posting agin here to see if anyone else has any ideas? car starts first time, absolutely no smoke, but poor performance,but not all the time?? thanks

What power rating is the engine? As far as I can remember the 130 FAP has a VNT turbo, the vanes on these can stick.
