engine oil sump pan replacement

Post by creon »

i have now tracked down an oil leak in the dw8 from the cam cove/box which is fixed to the sump pan, which has a pinhole and is losing a fair amount of oil.

my problem is sourcing the sump pan and gaskets, could someone advise from which other models would the sump pan fit my 306 dw8 without a/c and what difference is there between the lot - xud, partner, berlingo, dw10, Citroen etc. i would like to get a second hand sump maybe alloy which i think needs longer bolts, mine is steel. i have hylomar 100 series silicone and might put paper gasket on as well, ill see whats on when i get it off.

would this fit for example - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Febi-19187-Sump ... elId=11422" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; only £3.75 from amazon.

i have seen new sump pans on ebay etc for around £40 but might look local

thanks

if you send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No. i will check on pug service box and cross the part No. onto service citroen,
i have not had the pleasure of dismantling a DW lump as yet, but are you sure the bolts from the cam cover go trough and into the sump?????

From memory generally the steel pressed sumps are fitted to models without AC and the alloy sumps* fitted to those with AC, although the results can vary a bit.

*Some of the alloy ones have surprisingly fragile sump threads too, not many thankfully.
