BX to XM steering ram diameter

Unread post by citronut »

s someone got an XM power steering ram laying around they could measure the diameter of its body,

as although i have found a good used ram leak off rubber collar for my BX, as the little stub/spout fell off whilst i was doing the dreaded N/S rack gaiter,
and this collar is NFP from the dealers now, but the XM one is still showing as available

Ha.. now how many racks do i have??

Id be more inclined to sugest xantia pas rack malc .. surely they are possibly even the same rack? I know xm racks at the pinion valves arent the same..

Pleanty of xantia racks too.. im sure theres at least two whole front subframes complete about..

Paul service citroen does not show the ram leak off rubber collar for any XANT model as a separate item,
but it does for the BX and XM,
the BX one is NFP but the XM one is still available,

the XM ram certainly looks bigger in diameter that the the BX ram in service citroens drawings,

also thanks for the web link Mr Sticky, but i could not see any mention of the power steering hydraulic ram on Sucks whooooops i mean Sasic's site

Not easy....but it is there when needed type of site :)

I am ATM looking at a method of replacing Ram gaiters to make a better protected type so lots of random images is actually quite helpful :)

Mr Sticky
its not the rack gaiters ( i assume that is what you thought i mean ) im after but the small rubber collar at the neck of the ram, internal diameter of the collar is 36mm, obviously this is the OD of the ram body
