Ok so less than 1 week into a new relationship she's let me down, driving home last night clutch went straight to floor and stayed there on the Xantia Hdi estate. managed to drive it the rest of the way in 2nd gear. Tonight I removed the clutch slave cylinder, and as I expected the clutch arm was flopping about, the release bearing had pulled out. Managed to "click" it back in but there was still no resistance at the pedal. With some pedal pumping operation has returned.
A couple of questions for those in the know. Well probably only 1 because I kind of know what the answer will be.
1. The release bearing has pulled out once - its going to do it again sooner or later isn't it so I guess its gearbox out and new clutch time really.
2. What is the fluid used in the Xantia clutch system? LHM, brake fluid (if so what DOT) or something else?
The list on this car just gets longer!
