Trouble finding right fuse

Post by annatinks »

So my mirrors stopped opening and closing and my heated rear window is also not turning on suggesting my fuse needs replacing. Apparently this is Fusebox c, F17 but the manual diagrams do not match my car at all (maybe because C5 exclusive rather than base model?) Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Which generation of C5 exclusive do you have?
There could be and most likely are differences between the first model, the facelift and the X7.

First or face lift models should be dashboard fuse 4.

Just in case you are not sure how to access the fuses.
Dashboard fuses, in bottom of glove box. Access by removing black plastic cover on the left, then pull off cover that the black plastic cover sits in, use top of the oblong hole that the black cover came from to pull/leaver the second one out. Fuses are then revealed.

Fuse 4, red 10 Amp in the centre is given as “rear view mirrors” in both my hand book and the Haynes BOL covering years 2001 to 2008.

Car Handbook gives fuse 17 as “Heated Rear Screen”.

Hope that helps
Andy

Red 10 amp was great help thank you. Changed them 1:1 3rd one I tried was the right one :-) does the Haynes cover this model well? Was a pain in the *** doing the clock first time 'cause car manual had nothing on the built in screen in it.

There should be an additional hand book (Citroen Navi Drive or similar) for the screen and associated menus which is very descriptive. Definitely not in Haynes. Haynes is usefull for locating items and torque loadings.

You could try obtaining a Navi Drive? book from Ebay or your local freindly scrap yard, it will need to be the one for the year of manufacture of your car. Some leave the handbooks in the vehicles, others create a library ( well a box of greasy car hand books) exchangable for a few beer tokens.
If it can happen it will.
