Xantia 2.0 hdi lights

Post by bill hughes »

Hi all
I need to change a headlamp bulb on my Xantia, it was very simple on my 1.9tdi just unclip the cover, this one has a cover going right across the front panel with 4 bolts holding it in place, is it just a case of removing the bolts and panel or would that be too easy, any help would be appreciated.

Changing headlamp bulb was easy in my Xantia MK2. Left side (battery side) was easier which had more free space behind. With the right side I had to move/unclip a small hose to get better access.

I didn't remove the headlamp set for bulb replacement. There is a back lid/cover retained with a metal clip. After undoing the clip remove the back cover. Then remove the round rubber dust cover. Unclip the bulb holder and so on.

Changing a bulb in C5 II is more challenging :)

vertvego. thanks for your help, the piece of panel I referred to seems to bolt onto the top of the radiator so I presume you just unbolt it and remove the panel as there is no access otherwise

Thanks for all your help, it was a very simple job once I had figured out which bits to remove, while I was at it I fitted 2 new high powered bulbs, waiting for night to come to see how much better they are. :-D

I use Philips vision plus in the Xantia dipped beams, standard wattage but much better illumination and dipped cutoff improved, the Xantia weak point IMO.
