C5 Estate Tailgate won't open?

Last week shut tailgate on My 2006 C5 Estate, didn't lock the car went to open half hour later and it's stuck shut.
I have removed door card but can't see any way of opening tailgate, a friend said on most cars there's an emergency release button, I can't see one.
Also has anybody else had this problem and know how to sort it.
I ran Lexia global scan on car it found lots of faults as usual but nothing to do with tailgate.

Most probably a broken wire in the left hand hinge.
I can't remember quite how I did it but I removed the card on the tailgate and pulled on the solenoid to release the catch.
Don't have the estate anymore to go and look.

Struggling with this, can't find any broken wire but even worse no way of opening tailgate, without opening can't remove the catch.

Surely there must be emergency hole on Estate tailgate, if so I can't see it. Anybody know if or where it is.

Tried Lexia again still doesn't find any fault with tailgate at all.??

Thanks Stickyfinger pointing me in the right direction to Wheeler.

Embarrassed or what! after removing Stainless Guard back of boot floor exposes the door lock.
I kept looking at the little hole on left of the lock thinking could that be emergency opening, no it's to small

any how I did push a nail into it but didn't lever to one side just pushed it down, so gave up on that

Next day tried it again and wiggled nail form side to side and hey presto lock opens

I feel so thick it's untrue.

So if any body has one I need a C5 ESTATE Tailgate lock and door card that I ripped removing.
