Can cannot move, do I just vent it or call in a degassing team from the local HS dept ?
Any additives to but into pumps/rad/pipes etc to prevent internal rot ?
Best way to seal the pipe work.......
I don't know enough about AirCon

Re: Air-Con disassemble ?
Cheers Addo, and good evening to you.
The components will be taken off the car......it is the sealing of the pump/cartridge and cooler rad that worries me as I may need the components later.
I have been told that if you leave an Air-Con pump off for even a few days they start to corrode internally. Is there a "storage spray" or anything ?

Look for a mobile air-con man in your area and get it serviced properly

Re: Air-Con disassemble ?
They only degrade if moisture gets in, so seal up all the open ports as well as you can. Having said that, I have recomissioned systems that have been open for several years (just replacing the drier) with no problems. Venting the system to atmosphere is illegal in the EU, but still normal practice in many countries.

Well well well......another urban myth then....I will seal them up asap after removal.
I will also get a mobile Gasser to drop in and collect the gas, gosh I'm getting green in my old age.

If you're only dismantling it and nobody's watching I'd guess just letting it go wouldn't do much harm If you think about it these things fail regularly because the gas has leaked out.

Re: Air-Con disassemble ?
Only bits really to be worried about as far as breakdown due to exposure to the air are the compressor itself and the accumulator/drier assembly (which I would replace as a service item anyway if the system had been open to the air as it contains a dessicant).
Unless you store the rest of the system at 99% humidity, nothing should really care.
Local Fridgie should be able to do this for not much. Just block the ports on everything as soon as you can so no gunk gets in and you should be fine.
Just order in a new accumulator/drier before you put things together, then have it ready to go when you put it back together.

Re: Air-Con disassemble ?
That's good news....thanks
My intent is to store all the components and at the given time (LHD=2=RHD), look at an install in an Activa if possible.
As they will be aside for a year or so, do you think it would it be a good thing to fill the pump with air-con oil ?

Re: Air-Con disassemble ?
No just seal it, it is how they sit on the dealers shelves as spare parts.
