We have a Ax Mk2 1.0 Debut, The problem is,that the steering has gone very heavy. The tyres are the original ones to the car, tyre pressures are correct, 29psi, Are there any greasing pionts on the steering rack or anywhere? The car has just passed its MOT, 58,000 miles on the clock.
Any Ideas???

Try popping the track rod ends off and trying to "steer" the wheels by hand. If they are stiff to turn, you're looking at a lower ball joint.
While the track rod ends are disconnected, check that they aren't seized themselves. Also have a spin of the steering wheel and see if it's free when it's not connected to the wheels. If it's stiff then, it could be a problem with the rack, but more likely a column joint.
Ignore the fact its got a recent MOT, it'll only find loose joints unless they're really stiff.
My money is on a partially seized lower ball joint.
