Tailgate wiring

Unread post by DeanPesticcio »

Hi, I have a C5 VTR PLUS NAV HDI (2010), wiring breaking up inside the gaiter at the tailgate hinge. I dont want to tape it up I want to have a replacement loom, or at least a competent repair. Anyone had this problem before?

As the dreaded Tom Jones was wont to say, "It's not unusual" :(

The usual treatment is to extend the wiring a bit by splicing (soldering) in a new piece and protecting it with heat shrink tubing.

There s snapped wire and a few bodged tape repaire that someone else has done, looks like all the wires are on the way out, I'm not a sparky so I'm probably looking at a new loom :( or someone who is willing to do a nice repair ..

I had a mobile sparks do mine while he regassed the aircon in my C5 and my son's 306.
Wasn't expensive at all - £105 for the lot. It was a few years back now though - 2008.
