C3 REAR LIGHT CLUSTER

Post by c.morewood »

Does anyone have a photo of how the C3 rear light cluster is fastened at the top. I know there's a bolt and nut, but on My mums car the nut has rusted and it looks like I'm going to have to break the rear light cluster to get at and renew the bolt.
How is the bolt fastned to the car?
The bulb contacts must have some form of verdegris on them as faults keep appearing on the info display,,, drives me batty with all the beeping going on.. every thirty seconds there's a warning about the fog, indicator or brake light.. and they all work perfectly well when switched on!!

Just about 3 mins in it's visible - not very clear mind. Suspect it is spot welded to the car from the other side. Not sure how you would fix it.... probably have to strip the trim off and then glue a bolt in or something.

whoooops i didnt read all of your post,

if the threaded post has gone as well as the nut, you might be able to use a large self taping screw, through the lamp unit and into the body

Now i see why theres a problem.. the little cover for the nut area isn't there and the nut isn't 10 mm its about 8mm after all the rust.. Well it is Shetland after all!!
