Music on CD-R what will play in 2005 C3 player ?

Running out of blank CDs so thought I'd better ask before wasting any more
I have 2xC3s a 2005 and 2006 but looks like the same radio/player in each. Plays normal CDs ok and any CDs created from windows media player and saved as music CD, but limit of one hour of music.
I tried creating a 'data' CD with just a list of about 40 tracks, mixed WMA and MP4-audio but it wouldn't play, just get the searching display forever.

Has anyone done this for these players and if so any tips on what they can play. I can create a 1hr CD of selected tracks in media player if I create a music CD but defeats the object of having 40+ tracks as it only uses the first hour's worth. I believe just a list of tracks as a data CD will just play with no info against them but that is no problem.

Any advice welcome as first time I have tried the WMA/MP3 type route so no idea on the options. I am assuming they are too old to play DVDs with music on them.

You'll have to get an aftermarket radio if you want to use the 'data cd' method, as that simply burns the files to the cd rather than into a format that can be read by a stereo or similar. The cd player will just think its a damaged disc as there is no track data on there.

So, you're limited to 64 minutes a cd i'm afraid!

Do you have a Line-In jack on the radio ? use your phone or get a MP3 player and plug that in direct.....or you could get a radio from another Xantia (OEM) that does have it.

Thanks for the replies, seems I will have to be a bit more selective about what I put on the CD. Sadly no other inputs, I would have thought there would be from 2000 onwards, as said at least a jack plug socket.
I can do a few CDs but may be too lazy to change them from time to time, all that pressing eject and puuting in another one, so 1970s
