How very odd. To do all that and then decide to break it due to time wasters....

Yes, it needs to be saved... I'd imagine the lads over at Club-XM are on to it...

It is the straight 2.0l petrol so it could ideally do with an engine transplant. Possibly this is what is making the car perhaps less desirable that say, a TCT or a 2.1TD diesel.

I'll have a lovely TCT that could drop straight into it in a few months

It's claimed it's made 850 twice on ebay and clowns haven't turned up. I think that's a high price for that model, even with MOT (the abs light appears to be on too!)

That can be bad news on the old-school Bendix ABS if a sensor has thrown in the towel... They're something like £250 a pop and S/H ones are rarer than honest politicians...

Other show-stopping Bendix ABS faults are actuator electrovalve coils going open-circuit but I did a write-up on Club XM on how to fix them...

Ditto the common safety relay problem that afflicts them... Show-stopping but fixable... Again, Club-XM has a write-up...

Yeah I agree - this must be saved!!!

I keep stopping myself from buying an XM because I'm damn sure that as soon as I buy my first one, I'll start collecting them as well...
That's why I went for a C5 when I wanted a load lugging tow car (confident I wouldn't get so attached to it!!!)

I think the one that will "Hold its Value" in the future will be the C5-V6-24V-BT-X7....for having the silliest ever Citroen name :)

I think the only ones that will hold their value will be XM V6 24v, the XM diesels, and maybe the Activa if values start to rise. The rest are just cars.

Engine type is becoming less and less important as the price between petrol and derv closes, series 1 cars of all flavours seem to sell the fastest but price is now largely dictated by age and condition rather than specific engine types. A lot of xms are falling out of daily use and into the hobby vehicle class, some see the less complicated engines as a better bet than ones where parts are getting slightly more difficult to source.

XM Prestige PRV6 92
Talbot Express Autotrail Chinook 89
Mitsubishi L200 Trojan 14
Xantia Activa 95, sold (missed)

Service Citroen is awesome, it shows me pictures of all the parts i used to be able to buy............
