09 Exclusive bluetooth or not?

Post by SaabC5 »

So i've just picked up an 09 C5 Exclusive and the handbook alludes to it having Bluetooth for the phone. If i press the wheel button for the phone the info display says "no mobile connected". Is this a red herring because I can't for the life of me get my phone to find "citroen" to pair it with the vehicle, does this mean its not Bluetooth equipped or i'm just plain stupid?

£10 bet, no Bluetooth on a 2009. ?? Do you have a RCA box in the glove box or USB in center console ?

no bluetooth then....

Some upgrade the head unit, others (like me, have settled) to fit a small bluetooth receiver on the dash just behind the stalk. There are many about @£20-30, the new DAB ones look good as well at @£150.

Its hard wired into the RCA ports with a cable, it has a Mic for hands-free and a line in/sd card as well. I have hard wired the power feed as well to keep the glove box clear.....sigh...another power plug to deal with...

Stickyfinger- my dad's C5 exclusive is a 2010, has RCA ports in the glovebox, and USB in the centre box. I keep forgetting to check thoroughly for bluetooth when I drive it, but my cursory prods haven't found it yet. Whadya think?

My 2008 Exclusive has no Bluetooth, but it has a small vertical tray that slides out so you can fit your SIM card into it.(to the right of the lower right side control knob)
It then "reads" and stores your contacts etc. Bit of a bugger taking the SIM out of your phone every time, especially for shorter journeys. It works well though.

Nope (90%) , you can use a hard drive however.

And a note, volume is always low due to the set up of the RCA connections/phone line out. You can fit a booster however which improve things for the HeadBangers

Could it be that the 2009> cars with Sat Nav have Bluetooth?

either a Sim slot or Bluetooth on late SatNavs (has a plug in modular box) and the other box systems for direct-line feed.

So yes, if Sat Nav there is a rare poss of bluetooth....however it is low quality and an early configuration Bluetooth 1

Thanks- his car has satnav too, so you never know. I'll do some investigating when I'm next in it! The glovebox RCA connections are awful in my C6, I don't understand why they couldn't be better. I installed a USB Box, and use an aftermarket bluetooth thing (Kinovo?) plugged into it, which all works great for me.

Agree about the cabin pockets, one of the few bad points of the design I would say. I hard wired a bank plug of 4 power outlets (+2 usb out), I have that tucked in behind the trim
with the /Phone/TomTom/Bluetooth/Creative Zen music player power jacks plugged into that to save space. (glove box is the biggest joke :?: )
