help with oil/diesel leak from 2010 1.6HDi 110...unknown cau

Post by gwestwood84 »

What would cause a rainbow to appear behind /under the car? Seem to have developed this issue in last couple of weeks. Had a look inbi engine bay. Timing belt side of car seems to have wet oil down the side. Alternator belt a little squeeky in mornings when cold. Can't see if there's a join in block where wet oil is. have tried parking car overnight then looking for puddle in morning. I found the supposed tide mark. It seems to have a few drops when sitting over night. Always on drivers side. Always about 1.5 to 2 foot from side in line with wheels. Not a lot of drippage overnight....seems to be more when running...
Stuggling to find anything on other Citroën forums regarding this.
Thoughts? ?

The exact car model would also help, since you've written down everything else ...

Sorry it's a 2010 Citroën c5 1.6 hdi vtr+nav.
car serviced inline with service guide (+/- 500miles). Had a loose injector tail end of last year (oct) but repaired with no issues. Approx 6k miles since with no issues.
Oil on side of block is at opposite side from injector that was leaking.

Power steering (servo) motor is intact (for the steering column)? Maybe it has loose bearings, and came apart (happened on my previous Xsara, twice) ...

Electric PAS on these I think...

Ours was leaking oil from the hose clamps on the air doser valve above the alternator - a surprising amount was coming out! Just tightened the clamps up and it dried out. Can you post a pic up of the offending end of the engine?
