Hi ! Got on my Xantia little problem. When neutral, without moving After rise RPM to about 2500, it begin to fluctuate up and down. Before and after that amount RPM stay still without fluctuate.
New spark plugs, throttle body cleaned, new air filter and fuel fiter.
Dunno if I described it enough with my english
I've had this exact same problem happen on my Activa..
It was, in my cases, caused by a sticky (dirty) Idle Control Valve... I'm not sure exactly how it is arranged on your engine but cleaning just the throttle body will not resolve the issue...
A good clean of the idle control vale itself should resolve the problem.
One thing which immediately jumps out at me there as well is that the car is running rather warm isn't it? I tend to start having a panic attack if I see any of my car's temperature gauges even thinking about going over half way...
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 73 AC Model 70, 62 Rover 110.
Yep, but it is probably OK. It does all the time since I got this beauty. I've already changed everything what I could (sensors, water, termostat, fan and radiator) and the temperature is still same.... The point is that the temperature never went above 100 ° C.
car is running at 90*c in the video which is just fine, the design of the gauge simply makes it look high, centre of the gauge is only 80 which is very cool for a petrol engine... Anyway back to the issue & yeh more than likely it is a dirty ISCV and a good clean should have it back to normal
