C5 trip computer?

Post by Xantianut »

Ay up!

Just wondering here. The button for scrolling through the TC functions on the right hand stalk is there and pushes in. The dash display is rhe type wot comes with the TC. However, you can push the buttons as much as you like but all you get is date, time and outside temperature. With the original radio, it also told me which station it was tuned in to but the speakers remained silent. New radio sorted that.

Bearing in mind this is a 52 plate SX is it likely to have a TC? If so, any way of fixing it? [-o<

It will show instantaneous mpg, average mpg, miles since last fill up - (assuming it was reset) and range (miles to next fill up).
Also average speed.

Trip computer is as usual in with odometer. Reset with engine running by pressing the button on the top left of the panel with the speedo/tacho etc.

I've got a 2002 lx, it doesn't appear to have the computer facilities, can a lexia make these available? Apologies for the thread hi-jack ;)

They will be available but you will need the display from an SX or higher model.
Easy fit and they just work.
One problem with them is the button on the end of the stalk stops working. This is repairable but immensely fiddly.
Never did get mine seen to on the first C5.

Aha!

MyGlaren, all is revealed! That'll be it - the button on the stalk.

So the question is: can I be bothered to strip down and repair.

YES!!!!! That's my Summer project....

There is a guide somewhere here and I'll try and find it.
It seems to be a quite fragile contact that bends or breaks, combined with dirt and corrosion.

Here is (one) thread with info on repairing the 'trip computer' button.

The reference to "Trip Computer" is a bit misleading (for me anyway) as I connect that term with the trip display below the odometer.
Prefer to use 'Multifunction Display' or 'Infoscreen' personally.
