Hi lads
swapped ecu and bsi and now lexia cant access any of the ecus thanks to citronut i have tracked down the vin and rpo for the ecu combo but it just wont communicate its driving me nuts the rear wiper wont work the rear windows wont work and a few other bits aswell its like as if half of the loom is cut off
If they just needed coded to the car I would have thought you would still get communication with them, after all how would you program them in the first place with no communication ? if it is a matched set ECU, BSI & transponder chip it shouldn't need coding at all.
what car is it ? why was the ECU & BSI replaced ? were you able to get communication with the previous ECU & BSI ? have you tried your lexia on another car ?
Hi lads
car kept throwing up mysterious faults cutting out general erratic behaviour now car is driving with new bsi and ecu it drives better with this ecu combo but as i said there are a lot of systems that no longer work
The features that don't work may e.g. rear electric windows, may not have been fitted to the car the BSI was removed from. Sometimes when the immobiliser function is removed from an engine ECU it will not report fault codes or may not communicate properly with a diagnostic system. I have come across this with a major German manufacturer. Your problem is that you have no idea what has been done with these units before you got them. If you really need to change them better get replacements from a local breaker where you can try and swap. With regard to your original problem,I find the biggest offender to be the connections on the bm34. This is particularly true of high current connections such as the supply to the in tank pump. I have found many BSIs blamed in the wrong. A visual inspection often is all the diagnosis that is required.
I mean lexia not talking to new ecu but as I say car running better if I could access ecu I could switch on systems inside ecu all cables running to the in tank pump look fine so any suggestions also ive checked the original equipment list and all are the same
sorry just copped post all is working perfect you have to replace the ignition lead as well. turned out the battery fuse on the bsi was blown that's why it wouldn't connect to lexia.
