poor starting when warm (not hot , but when it has been stood for an hour and cooled)

Are you allowing time for the glow plug light to go out? Despite being 'warm' these turbo XUD's still need a full glow plug fix if you want it to fire up quickly.

yes - the glow plug light is only on for a few seconds when `warm` , its on for a good 10 count when cold
