Anybody near Exeter?

Post by DHallworth »

Any kind member of the forum near Exeter by any chance?

Have got my eye on something on eBay that's finishing in an hour or two but the seller won't post.

Thanks

David.

Try Stickyfinger. He's probably fifteen miles away and often seems to be up late.

Cheers Addo. Hopefully he'll reply here and say he doesn't mind helping.

I've just bought this item: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Nitro ... 7675.l2557" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The seller says that as it only fetched a tenner it's not worth them spending any time wrapping it or preparing it for a courier to collect so I need to find a way of getting it moved.

Once it's in Glasgow and I've sussed out how it works I'll organise a forum sphere recharging day :)

I can probably get it from the Hampshire/West Sussex border to York in the not too distant future if that's any use. I know that's not Glasgow, but it's progress in the right direction :)

That's very kind, thank you.

We'll see what happens, I did wonder about having it moved on a pallet if someone could collect it for me. Lke Handyman says in his other thread, the seller has been particularly unwilling to help with transport arrangements and has threatened to put it in a skip if it didn't sell which seemed criminal.

Ideally if I could get it up the West coast rather then the east it'd be better as I'm up and down the country fairly regularly, just never as far south as Exeter unfortunately.

Actually, East or West isn't really an issue, I could always nip over to the wrong side of the Pennines if necessary

I'll clarify my earlier vagueness a bit ! I could definitely get it from Hants/W Sussex border to York, it's just I can't tell whether that'd be within 2 weeks or 2 months time. I make the journey often enough, just not on a regular basis.

Newcastle would be perfect as my sister is in Newcastle, trying to get it from Exeter to you is the problem, John.

Thanks.

I've given the sellers details to Shaun who has a friend in Exeter who is going to organise picking it up and getting it to the X Rally I believe.

Looks like it might all be sorted now.

I've already paid him for it by Paypal so he can't get rid of it anyway

Right, time for an update on this... Shaun's friend, Ant, very kindly collected my sphere recharger...

In the advert on eBay there was a picture of a trolley with some hoses and pressure gauges on it... When collected, it's actually got a giant metal box to clamp the sphere's down in.

Can't wait to get it collected from Shaun now and have a play with it.

Certainly seems like an interesting bit of kit for a tenner!
