At one time this would have captured my interest. Coming up on Thursday this week at Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions.

Its the wrong colour, it would have to be resprayed yellow but its a very decent example of what is an old car, has a current MOT, is right-hand drive, and previously a documented restoration. They aren't making them anymore, but it is French, quirky in looks and they rarely come up for auction, anywhere and not just the UK.

As a practical proposition my interest would be in the driving, and virtually none in the tinkering, or in the paying through the nose for non-existant service and maintenance parts. I regard car-fixing as something I want to do the minimum of, and on those occasions when I have to get down and dirty at MOT time its irritating rather than enjoyable. Practically its a non-starter.
This would be nice though

Lovely... That's a Slough-built one too... Much more luxurious than the French one... It'll have a wood dash and lots more chrome...

New phrase on me too, never had occasion to use it myself. Easy to get the gist though.
This item is sold on an ‘As is Where is’ basis.

Quirky French, in excellent condition, and a very impressive video from the lads at Killingworth, well worth a watch

That's a Hereford registration Neil, looking at the underside it's typical Ford, transverse springs and torque tube transmission, like the 30s/40s/50s Anglia and Prefect.

I like it, and just down the road at an auction at Killingworth at WB and Sons this week. It's in excellent condition. Wonder if anyone will want it :?:

It's the WB and sons Auction starting 11.00am this morning. No doubt you can watch it live should you so wish.
If I read my own assessment encapsulated below, and acknowledge that it is right, the relatively simple task of catalogue in hand not raising my hand in the room to get carried away and end up with a 1957 Renault Juvaquatre Dauphinoise, or a Yellow Fiat X1/9, or indeed a VW Caddy Camper with a recon engine with an advisory for a smokey exhaust should be easy to achieve. :-D

Read that headline and thought "fancy that, never heard they did a turbo version!" (Reading the article: They didn't, just naturally aspirated 1.6 8 valve VTR and 16v VTS, as I knew)

I think I was inspired by reading an article about a turbo kit you could get for the little Fiat Cinquecento - had never heard of the existence of that till this article either.

I would enjoy watching that auction without having registered to bid to avoid potential temptation, but unfortunately I have a pre arranged visit to Elstree to reconfigure the TV boxes and aerials to permit the inclusion of a new box for future recording while keeping the old box available to catch up watching the things already recorded on it.
Once everything has beem watched from the existing box and new stuff recorded on the new, much larger capacity, box I will no doubt have another visit to remove the old box, which will then be installed upstairs to replace the existing upstairs box which has become unreliable!! Fortunately there are no outstanding recordings upstairs so the changeover will be simpler.
Much rather be watching the auction though! :-D
