Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
cor, could fancy the GTA, and at £8.5k sensibly money.... not that I could fund it, store it, insure it or run it; but I still WANT ONE !
NB: surprised the little BMC 1100/1300's sold away so seemingly ridiculously cheaply.... market forces eh

That dolly sprint is gorgeous. That was one of my "I want" cars when I was in my teens. By the time I could afford one the mk1 astra sri and manta gte seemed better options!

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
We had an Dolly 1850HL, in Britsh Racing Green, PAP400R. Huge fun, especially after various things had been sorted like the nodding carbs, adding a Kenlowe fan and electronic ignition, a Goffy s/s exhaust (their first for this model), and a new radiator. Never did get the overdrive solenoid to be reliable, but was good when it worked. The BRG with gold coachlines looked great - very Stag-like!

A Humber Hawk or Super Snipe around 1960 or even earlier if it hasn't rotted out, or even a Pullman. Lovely comfortable cars in their time and I think still look good now.

Probably more than the whole company was worth.

er...has to be a *misprint surely.....I mean if you really like P50's you can still buy a new one, in 10 standard colours including Sunshine Yellow if you want for a quarter of the currently reported sale price on that original.
Basic Kit £6,499 Factory Built £8,499

*Maybe not this blurb from the "New P50 website" would suggest the buyer may have got a bargain
Narrower than a phone box & shorter than a Vespa, the P50 microcar is officially the World’s Smallest Car. Made on the Isle of Man in the early 1960s, fewer than 30 exist today making it one of the rarest cars in the World.
Famously TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson drove a 1963 P50 through the BBC right up to his desk. It’s fame & rarity means cars often sell for over $170,000! Putting them out of reach of most car fans. Until now!

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
Alfasud for me, haven't seen the Mk1 shape for a very long time and much as I know pretty much nothing about them, should think they were quite a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. White's the wrong colour for it and the interior is very much 'of its era', but its easily my pick of the bunch.
talking of 70's hatchbacks, the owner of a Fiat 127 I spoke to suggested that the Mk1 Fiesta was modelled on the Fiat 127; looking at images of the two side by side, seems feasible.

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
Not many Alfasuds on the roads of the UK. This from How Many Left includes all the Sprint Veloces etc. Only 65 of the entire breed as of Q1 2018. That particular one has been in a carcoon for the last 6 years so whether the new owner is actually going to drive it and enjoy it or just return it to its coccoon who knows.

looks lovely in the yellow doesn't it and the rather modern wheeltrims only take a moment to remove. Blue roof is a bit odd, but what better way of cruising on a sunny afternoon
