Xantia 2 1.9TD A/C Fill Point Locations

Post by Zelandeth »

Simple question. Where on earth are the HP and LP service valves on this car? Most I've seen have them somewhere pretty obvious, but they seem pretty well hidden on the Xantia.

Think I see one on a line just behind the compressor, but not sure at a glance which one it is, nor where the other is.

I've got a set of pressure gauges floating around somewhere so wanted to connect them up and see if there's anything in there at all (it's off on the LP switch at the moment) hence it will likely take a recharge or if the system is totally empty. Before I can connect anything though I need to find the connectors...

Anyone know off the top of their head?

The ports are accessed from below close to the compressor, a bit of a struggle if the under tray is still in place.

Ah, they are both hiding down there are they? Spotted one but couldn't see the other. Will have a crawl around tomorrow if we're not buried under six feet of snow! Be useful to know which are the high and low pressure lines, though I imagine it's pretty obvious which is the liquid and gas line based on the pipe diameter anyway.

Access did look to be a bit interesting, though at least I have long and flexible hoses for this task.
