Xantia central locking part required

Unread post by harryjoe »

Hi all.

Having been browsing the forum this afternoon for a solution to my soaked boot carpet and pond under my rear seats, I will attack the issues tomorrow with some sealer =D> =D>

Does anyone have the small rod that fixes between the central locking actuator and the locking mechanism, this appears to be missing from my estate =P~ and I was wondering why the tailgate never locked with the plip. The motor/actuator works fine when the car locks.

I know it's a long shot, but I maybe lucky and find one

Well amazingly, I cannot find any reference to the locking stuff on service citroen!

So, if you want, ill remove it and send it to you, and you can see then if it fits...

Paul select "BODYWORK" in the left hand column then "REAR SECTION" then lock

here is price and part No. for a MK2 XANT estate central locking servo push rod, it is NFP though

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
872544 CONNECTING ROD 3.93 GBP 4.72 GBP 4.72 GBP

you could either ask your local dealer to do an all dealer search, or do a goooogly search with that part No.

Hi Malc & Paul.

Thanks for the replies, sorry iv'e been working shifts so not been online #-o

Yes the leaking hatch took me a while to discover where the hell it was getting in, before looking on the forum, what a c***p design that is to get rid of the water inside the hatch, surely they could have come up with better solution at the design stage, after all the complex car Citroen have produced in the past , that should have been a breeze to solve, I could sling me hook under my rear seats with a good chance of catching some supper, it was full to the underside of the seats and has flooded the rear floor wells, it's going to take weeks to dry out, and the smell !! its like driving my sons slippers :rofl2:

Thanks for looking into the possibility of the locking rod too, I will try Malc's idea first, if not I will PM the forum member, I doubt if the local dealer would be able to get hold of one, but I will look into the other link posted.

While I'm here, does the meeting at Little Horwood still take place each year ? Went to that when I had my XM, Great weekend

As I expected, service.citroen confirms that it's the same part on both S1 and S2 - my understanding is that there are no differences in tailgates over the whole production of Xantias. I've just stripped a tailgate in the wrong colour to have it re-sprayed Vert Vega before rebuilding with overhauled wiper (rebuilt relay) - this leaves me with a load of spares - the current tailgate has the usual wiper/delay failed solder joint(s), disintegrating seal around the glass and one broken HRW element.

If you still want the rod (plus plastic retaining clip), PM me with your address.

Theres an external difference though between them, I wonder if you have seen it??

Rear wipers park at opposite sides to each other on S1 and S2s ! So, an S1 motor wont do for an S2 and vice versa!
