406 V6 Gearbox...

Does the 406 V6 suffer the same gearbox maladies as the Xantia V6 can? I know they're the same engine and box, but I believe from tireless research done by Simon and KP, among others that it's oil cooler issues that is the big worry. I imagine it gets full of external crud and stops cooling so well? Is the cooler in a similar place on the 406 and does anyone know if they suffer the same problems ?
