Where to buy Rubber?

Post by dav3y »

Hey all !

Anyone know where i can get the rubber hose leading from the air filter on a xantia? Not your everyday item although someone may have come across individual bits like this?

(Xantia 2000 1.9) cheers

BODGE it BOY !....or just as cheap from a scrap yard

Have the engine mounts softened to allow that to flex to much ?

Secondhand should be the best bet here, imagine someone here will have one laying around.

Odd failure though, wonder how that has happened. Engine mounts maybe could do with checking as StickyFinger says.

Cheers. I think it may have been my laziness. I took off the air filter cover to check if it needed replacing although didn't take the jubilee off for the hose.

Although now you mention it I'd better check the mounts.

I'll have a hunt around the scrap yard and upgrade from my tin foil bodge

Its a common problem the rubber gets soaked in oil and eventually splits.

Its a dealer only part but its not expensive as dealer prices go, the last one i bought was about £35 if i remember correctly.

Paul (citroenxm) on here seems to have a supply of them. Myself and another member on here bought this part from him recently.

Ay up!

I had this problem on my petrol Xantia 1.8. It seemed to be caused by the rubber hardening. I found a bit of Gaffer Tape sorted it well but looked ugly. Does anyone make summat similar in black?
