Who wants an engine upgrade for their Xantia????

Though I would NOT use this particular engine, and the engine mount is a slight problem for the Series one but would be perfect for a HDi 110 engine bay, or V6 bay!

The 2.2 16v bit is a bad idea.. but the better idea is to fit the 2.0 16v hDi 138 from 2005 instead!!

a far better engine that one..

The 160bhp is an even better idea with remap! Also why on earth did they keep the EGR plumbed in!us a HDI90 radiator from the C5 as well, Maybe they have got around some of the injector issues and other gubbins of the 2.2 or have a spare engine or 5...

The interior mods look better, touchscreen nav anyone?!? I'd want to move the radio to where the vents are really...

The point I was making is the modern new engines still fit the older designs, so PSA appeared to stick to the same 3 point engine mount setup on their engines!!!

I'd guess that getting it through TUV test without the emissions gear is impossible.

BUT though, Mike, what happens there, do they just look at the car and go on engine size?? Or does the fact the modern engine is in they go on emissions??

Id guess from the reg it would go on engine SIZE not emmissions, so it would be standard large engine rate that all xantias pay...

The modification of the car is the issue in Germany Paul, as well as the emissions themselves. They don't look kindly upon any sort of mods for the TUV test, and all parts that you've replaced need certification - i.e. Paperwork from the parts manufacturer that state that the parts meet German standards. It's a real pain in the arse by all accounts (I've a couple of German friends, and some German Subaru club guys bought my Subaru to take back for a track car as there was no way to get it road legal there!). The easy way is to do as these guys appear to have done and simply drop a standard 2.2 motor in there with all it's attached gubbins because they are all manufacturer standard parts.

It's the most bizarre mod ever if you ask me. It's just as heavy as the 2.0TCT, it has less power as standard, and isn't that much more economical.

Pretty easily achievable with the 110bhp 2.0HDi 8V and a remap, I believe..

A little bit more of a fiddle, but still possible. There's a few Berlingo HDi 90s around that have been tweaked up to around that power.

I currently have too many cars and none (apart from her Berlingo) that I actually like or need.
