Carriage for Large Bumper

Post by addo »

I'm looking for recommendations.

Given that breakers and other bods post bubble-wrapped bumpers all about the country every workday, there has to be a carriage firm (or firms) doing this at a sane price. In my case, it would be Bournemouth area to Reading or St Albans. You'd think this would be possible, door-to-door for £60 or somewhat less.

Suggestions, anyone - or should I just hit up Shiply for quotes? Little bit gun-shy of them after Jim's experiences a while back. Dimensions approximately 170×70×50 centimetres rounded up, weight less than ten kilograms.

Marvellous! I trawled through several pages of Googlery and found a couple of people who'd used them. Looks like the same old, same old - you pack well, over-insure and it's good as anyone can get.

20 squid plus tax; I think insurance is extra.

All I need to do now is organise a WFA freight consolidation party in early 2015 and Chris can have half his shed back...

Hmm...

A simple email has gone unanswered; I asked yesterday how long normal operations would be disturbed over the Christmas period... :? Anyone else want to try a similar enquiry?

£20 is not much less than my fuel to go and get it...

I couldn't pay you less than £90+ for the time though. I've just worn five months of crap wages and refuse to inflict same on anyone. It's dehumanising.

Balls.

It's something to do on a dreary winter's day when the missus is at work and the boy is at school. It'd have to wait until the new year but I'll run down and get it if all else fails.

Bournmemouth is local to me if I can help in any way with anything that would fit in a Xantia hatchback. I'm not offering to drive it as far as Reading but thought I'd mention it.

If both Mikes can get together, it could be worth using Rownham services as a transfer point.
