engine warning light 2006 c5 136bhp diesel

Post by boristhespie »

My 2ltr diesel C5. 2006 exclusive's engine managment loght came on on the way home. I looked for faults on the dusplay and it said "antipollution system faulty".

I assume this will be what cause the engine management light to be on???

Anyone throw any light on what the fault may be?

A blocked pipe somehwere? There is an occassional stutter and pull back.

The anti pollution warning could be the result of many different things. The only way to narrow it down is to get it on a Lexia and interrogate the various fault codes and errors. If the car runs pretty much as usual then it is probably something relatively trivial.

My C5 2.0HDI Exclusive constantly says depollution error but when I checked the only fault I found was that there was a discrepancy between what the computer said the EGR valve position should be and what the valve position was. Makes no difference to the running of the car but shows up as an error because it is outside the "expected" parameters. It's not an MOT failure so I'm not doing anything about it.

As I said, you will need to get it hooked up to a lexia to be more certain of what it is.

Thanks. Last week I had a fault with the headlights which went away so wondering if electrics may be playing up.

Will this pollution fault be the cause of the lit engine management light?

Lastly. i have an old Chinese Lexia so will see if it can read the fault

Depollution fault is just generic for anything the engine management is upset about. No other chance than to get it on the Lexia and see what it's upset about.

I had this problem, took it to a garage they rested the light, and all was well then it came on again, this time it cut out when reved, took it back turned out the fuel filter was gone. Replaced and all is well since.

Only 25 quid so maybe worth a shout.
