Dilema !

Hi, my poor old ZX. I changed the cam belt, rollers and water pump. BIG problem forgot to lock up the flywheel, I remembered to lock up the cam shaft and fuel pump, ofcourse now it wont fire......it turns over ok. how do I now put the flywheel in correct position ? :oops: I hope someone can HELP, cheers Terry.

you will need to peg the cam and pump again,

if you look at the belt end of the engine just above the crank sprocket you will see a raised square block in the casting,
firstly rotate the crank till the the rear edge of the sprocket woodruff key is in line with the front edge of the raised block,

now as long as the cam/pump are not 180 degrees out and the pegging off holes line up, the peg hole in the fly wheel should be as near as dam it to lining up, might just rquire the crank rocking a gnats whisker one way or the other till the locking peg drops in

If im right, which often Im not, isnt there only ONE TDC pin hole for 8mm peg???

Meaning its impossible to get the crank timing wrong.. and will always be at TDC when the pin drops in...

If the engine does run but rough, there is room for ONE TOOTH out on an XUD without any internal damage!

So resetting should restore service!
