c5 steering noises

Unread post by thefrenchconnection »

My 2001 2.0 hdi sx c5 is making a noise when I turn the steering left or right but its OK in a straight line, this is annoying me,it had new front callipers for the mot a few weeks back this was when the noise started,I wouldn't of though it was the callipers causing the noise.

Air in the power steering possibly? Maybe jack the front off the ground and turn the steering lock to lock a few times to see if it will bleed out.

The handbrake cables (or worse, the brake hoses) haven't been dressed incorrectly, and are fouling the discs?

Been to garage got the car on the ramps and he said it could be CV joints, but he checked drivers side front wheel and there was a lot of play in the wheel I thought it was going to fall off! So wheel bearings have gone so its going in on Friday hopefully this is the problem.
