I have been trying to get at the thermal fuse on my Xsara Picasso 1.8 year 2000 and was wondering if it is possible to bypass it and put a new one in an easier location with a re-settable thermal fuse instead?
Plan is to buy a new thermal fuse unit with wiring and modify it.
Crazy idea or not?

I take it that you mean the thermal fuse in the heater fan resistor. This one will do the job.

The purpose of the thermal fuse in this instance is to prevent the resistor from overheating and setting fire to the car should the heater fan stall or if the airflow is insufficient.
