I was terrified of turning 50 Davie and I received this card on the day of my 50th...



Turns out, half way through my 50th decade, it's my best ever bar obviously what happened in 2012 but that's under control now and life has never been better

And as for slowing down... No. I've speeded up...

I remember several years ago cheering up my Mum on her birthday. She isn't sensitive about her age. On this occasion I wished her "Happy 21st Birthday", to which I got a "Thank You", and a comment that she didn't mind being told how old she was. I insisted she was 21, and she told me to stop playing silly buggers! I told her I could prove she was 21, and she told me to prove it. I then said "When does life begin at?", to which I got the response " Life begins at", followed by a pause, and then "You are right, I am 21!". According to Alex she then was silly all day (with the comment "I am 21, James proved I am 21!").

She was actually 61 that birthday.

I am actually better and fitter now at 51&1/2 than I was most of my 40's due to a few problems in that decade.

Well if he's not keen yet then so be it, but I have managed this week to decorate a room in the house in 3 days myself and deep cleaned the rest of it with no apparent ill effects. That's promising.
