Big initial post I am afraid.
2009 308cc 2.0 hdi 16v RHF engine. Delphi fuelling
I have just bought a 308cc as a non-runner. Don’t the full history, but is said to have suffered water damage. No sign of entry in the cabin or under the bonnet, so I am guessing it’s been driven through water and stopped.
Didn’t try to start it as was in economy mode and the battery was flat. Put the battery on trickle charge/conditioner, 3 days later I attempted a BSI reset, which I am a bit dubious if it works, as I think the bonnet catch is wired into the alarm, and when you connect the battery, you can hear what sounds like door lock checking going on.
Anyway, tried to start it, and it fired up, and ran beautifully for about 15 seconds and gradually died, as if it was running out of fuel.
Wouldn’t start again straightaway, but if you leave it for a while, it starts up again as before.
I had ran a global test before I tried to start it for the first time, and got a number of errors, including BSI and fuelling errors.
After clearing the errors, except for “F303 : Fault: configuration” and “P1671 : cruise control” which wouldn’t clear. I re-ran the global after trying to start again; I keep getting different errors in the fuelling tests.
• E:g P12A2 : injector flow correction 1
• characterisation of the fault. : injector 1 jammed closed or cylinder problem
Status . : Permanent fault
• P1471 : EGR valve
• P0243 : Turbo pressure regulation solenoid valve control
• P0243 : Turbo pressure regulation solenoid valve control
• P1164 : fuel pressure signal
• characterisation of the fault. : drift of the rail pressure before starting
• P0215 : injection system supply relay circuit (1 stage)?
• C1178 : ECU internal fault
But not all at the same time and sometimes none except F303 : Fault: configuration” and “P1671 : cruise control”
This was in the global test.
o P1164 : fuel pressure signal
Characterisation : drift of the rail pressure before starting
Status : intermittent .
Location : local .
Variables associated with the fault
? Engine speed : 0 rpm
? battery voltage : 10.84 Volt(s) (this was before I charged the battery)
? Engine status : cut or stalled
? coolant temperature : 21 °C
? fuel temperature : 19 °C
? Gross measured fuel pressure : 118 bars
? measured fuel pressure : 118 bars
? HP pump flow regulator current : 98 mA
o P12A2 : injector flow correction 1
Characterisation : injector 1 jammed closed or cylinder problem
Status : Permanent fault
Location : local .
Variables associated with the fault
? Engine speed : 1504 rpm
? battery voltage : 14.26 Volt(s)
? Engine status : Engine running
? coolant temperature : 16 °C
? accelerator pedal position : 22 %
? HP pump flow regulator current : 814 mA
? fuel temperature : 15 °C
? measured fuel pressure : 490 bars
This is live data before any changes:

As suggested in other replies I changed out the under bonnet fuse box, crankshaft sensor, and fuel filter,no change.
Not sure if it did it before, but "anti pollution fault" is showing on dashboard display.
Thses are the error codes as it stands now:
P0069 : Turbo pressure signal
characterisation of the fault. : Consistency with atmospheric pressure
Status . : Permanent fault
from . : local .
Variables associated with the fault
P0611 : Injectors
characterisation of the fault. : Fault : resetting of the injectors
Status . : Permanent fault
from . : local .
Variables associated with the fault
Swapped out the BSI, ECU and transponder, no difference.
What puzzles me is that it seems to re-prime itself over night whilst switched off, and starts fine.
How can that happen?
The only error I can’t clear is “F303 : Fault: configuration”
Thanks, Mike
