my pump failed on me recently, absolutely fine no problems, then next time went to use it, nothing!

Yup, unplug the wire plug on top, pop the two pipes off and pull it out, put the replacement in, If youve refilled your washer fluid to have a bucket/container to catch it all in! 
If your local yard allows you to look around still is handy as its a practice run! And you can Pull the arch liners out the way without Worrying about putting it back!
