Ordered some new pipe for a mates xantia after a massive fluid loss.
It doesn't look like either of them have the restrictor rod in, and the others are far past I to tell which was which to be honest.
Does anyone know the answer to my riddle?

I'd look at the LHM pump return pipe first as thats always a good source of leaks.

Steve, do you mean the thin steel wire inside the pipe? If so then that one is on the functional return side of the height corrector. I believe it's there to prevent the return lines back to the LHM reservoir being overwhelmed with LHM in case of large and sudden height corrections...

Definitely the pipes coming from the front height adjuster, I think its the feed pipe, with it being under extreme pressure, that's given up.
It seems the replacement does have the rod inside so all is well. Thanks for the speedy response.
Side note though..Any tips for removing oil/lhm stains from tarmac and concrete?

LHM usually comes away with plain washing up liquid. You might want to try an orange based cleaner on the oil, but no promises on that.

LHM stains fade quite quickly on their own but James has the right idea. Washing powder also works...
