Xantia Front Suspension

Help if you can.
I have a problem with the front suspension on my 96 xantia 1.9TD. It is absolutly rock hard, the only suspension I have is in the tyres. The back end is fine any tips on the cause.
Please help

If the ride height is normal then the spheres are knackered.
If the ride height is very high then the spheres are being over pressurised, caused by a problem with the linkages controling the height corrector, often just the plastic ball link flirts off when it gets a bit worn.
