Xantia Front Suspension Rattle/Knock

Post by kilianmanning »

Heys, have an annoying rattle coming from the front of my xantia which I can't seem to find :(
There is a knocking after coming to a stop after braking. Also rattles when going over some bumpy roads.
Its not the droplinks because I just replaced them along with the wishbones bushes.
I was thinking maybe a cv joint? But there isn't any clicking under full lock.
Anybody have any others ideas as to what might be causing this annoying rattle?

One of the engine mounts.

The one at the timing belt is a bit dodgy & the engine does like to jump when you put down the throttle. Likely to be the problem?

Yes, that is likely to be it. It was on mine a few years ago.

Which one was the problem on yours?

On my Xantia HDI it was the one by the timing belt , on my Berlingo it was the one at the rear of the engine. Both made the same noise.
